The medical profession sets standards for their own behavior, referred to as the "Standard of Care". But what we have seen in medical malpractice cases is that doctors really operate under a much lower standard than what their industry has established. When doctors set their professional standards lower, it will be far more difficult to win a medical malpractice case.
